As President and CEO of James Burchill & Associates,
Inc. (JBA), Jim Burchill offers his clients nearly
thirty years of experience in advocacy, political consulting,
project entitlements, and labor relations.
James Wayne Burchill is the President and Chief Executive Officer of James Burchill & Associates, Inc. Jim has served California's business community for nearly 30 years, focusing on governmental consulting, public relations, project management as well as community relations.
Upon graduating from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government, Jim began his career in political campaigning in the early 1960's. Jim actively participated in presidential and congressional campaigns in California, Illinois, Missouri and Nevada, coordinating grassroots organizing efforts, strategic planning at the local, regional and state levels and developing targeted direct mail and get-out-the-vote campaigns.
In 1977, Jim was invited to join the staff of the California Assembly, and within a year, was promoted to Chief of Staff for a Central California Assemblyman. During his tenure as an Assembly staffer, he coordinated constituent services and helped draft legislation. In 1980, Jim became the Senior Assistant to Howard Berman, who now serves as a United States Congressman.
Over the years, Jim has represented clients in the Western States and concentrated on the Northern California Region in fields such as development, unions, oil, agriculture, hotel properties, pipelines, solar, wind and other renewable energy industries. In addition to these clients, Jim has experience with campaign consulting ranging in everything from mailers to community involvement.
